The Florida Gators have had a bevy of success in churning out first round draft picks since 2006. 14 players have gone in the first round, the most of any team in the SEC East.
We can now move that number up to 15 after the selection of safety Keanu Neal. Neal has just been taken by the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 17 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft!
Neal is a very stout strong safety who plied his craft in Gainesville and played well in a secondary that also included fellow first rounder Vernon Hargreaves III who was selected earlier by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 17 pick in the draft.
Keanu Neal joins Major Wright, Joe Haden, Ahmad Black, Josh Evans, Matt Elam, and Jaylen Watkins as recent defensive backs to be picked in the NFL Draft since 2010.
Best of luck to Neal with his new team!
