Ole Miss Rebels defensive lineman and touchdown scorer Robert Nkemdiche has been taken with the No. 29 pick by the Arizona Cardinals, as his professional football career has officially begun.
Nkemdiche was at one time the No. 1 player in the country prior to getting to Oxford ahead of players like Jaylon Smith, Vernon Hargreaves III, teammate Laremy Tunsil, Su'a Cravens and Derrick Henry among others, all of whom have either or will be drafted this year or next as the 2013 class is downright star-studded.
The Ole Miss defensive lineman is the third first rounder for the Rebels in 2016, so they're making some history. This is the first time EVER in program history that they've had more than two first rounders in a single draft. He becomes the 22nd first round pick in Ole Miss history, joining teammates Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell as well as Patrick Willis, Eli Manning, Deuce McAllister, Peria Jerry, Michael Oher and Archie Manning among others.
Best of luck to Robert Nkemdiche at the next level!
