NFL Draft 2016: Vernon Hargreaves III selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Gators cornerback is NFL-bound now after being taken by the Bucs.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Florida Gators cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III has just been selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 11 pick in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

A two-time All-American and three-time First-Team All-SEC selection, Hargreaves is one of the most accomplished Gators cornerbacks in the program's history within the ranks of Lito Sheppard, Reggie Nelson, Keiwan Ratliff and Joe Haden. Now, like those players before him, he'll test his mettle in the pros.

Hargreaves' selection makes it four years in a row that a Gator has been chosen in the first round. He joins Sharrif Floyd, Matt Elam, Dominique Easley, Dante Fowler Jr. and D.J. Humphries as first round selections since 2013 for UF.

Best of luck to Hargreaves in his pro career!
