What Happened Last Night
- Tennessee 74, Tennessee Tech 68: Tennessee looked like they were going to run away with this, leading by 18 at the half, but Tennessee Tech made a run that made the final score pretty close. Robert Hubbs III had 25 points for the Vols.
- LSU 70, North Carolina Central 66: This was a pretty strange game. LSU never had a lead larger than five and won by four, but the most salient fact was that both teams started firing up bricks after the last media timeout. Antonio Blakeney had 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting for LSU; however, Tigers not named Blakeney, Duop Reath, or Brandon Sampson shot a combined 6-of-29 from the floor.
Today’s Schedule
Game | Time (ET) | TV/Streaming |
---|---|---|
UL Lafayette at Georgia | 6:00 PM | SEC Network/WatchESPN |
East Tennessee State at Mississippi State | 8:00 PM | SEC Network/WatchESPN |
This is an oddly compelling slate: Georgia hosts a UL Lafayette team that’s won eight in a row since an 0-2 start, and Mississippi State hosts ETSU, who’s 7-2 and ranked 90th in KenPom. Neither of these will be walkovers.
Odds and Picks
Yesterday: 2-0 ATS; Season to Date: 34-54-1 ATS
- UL Lafayette (+9.5) at Georgia: After a ten-day layoff and facing a pretty good UL Lafayette team, I’m guessing Georgia’s rust will show and this will be a close game. I think UGA will win but not cover.
- East Tennessee State at Mississippi State (-2): This one’s a tough call. Since Quinndary Weatherspoon returned, the Bulldogs have been playing well. They’ve also been off for ten days, but the matchups play into their favor and I think if Mississippi State takes this game seriously, they should win.
