The new AP college basketball poll was released Monday, and two Southeastern Conference teams are in the poll this week.
Kentucky held steady at #6 after a week that saw the Wildcats win two games over Valparaiso and Hofstra, but with none of the five teams ahead of them losing last week, there was no room for Kentucky to move up.
South Carolina, however, did move up three spots to #16 in spite of not playing last week; teams ahead of the Gamecocks lost last week, allowing them to move up. South Carolina is currently 8-0 on the season and plays Seton Hall tonight.
Florida dropped out of the poll after losing twice last week to Duke and Florida State; granted, both losses came against ranked opponents (the Seminoles weren’t ranked last week but moved into this week’s Top 25 at #23.)
