The Auburn Tigers will have a quarterback competition this Spring, as former Baylor and 5-star quarterback Jarrett Stidham announced he will be joining the blue and orange Saturday evening on Twitter.
These last 6 months have been crazy and the craziness is finally over. Time to start my next chapter at Auburn University! WAR EAGLE! pic.twitter.com/BckaHMO6D3

Shortly after, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn tweeted his excitement.
Boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! War Eagle!

Stidham is listed now as a four-star dual threat quarterback coming from the JUCO level. Although he didn’t participate in the sport at McLennan Community College, he did show tremendous potential during his one year at Baylor. In 10 games Stidham passed for 1,365 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 68.8 percent of his passes.
This is a good pickup for the Tigers to say the least. Over the past two seasons, Auburn has experienced its fair share of ups and downs at the quarterback position. The addition of Stidham gives Auburn 16 commitments in their 2017 recruiting class.
Stidham, who choose Auburn over SEC schools like Texas A&M and Florida, will compete with Sean White, Jonathan Franklin III and Woody Barrett for the starting quarterback position.
