The Southeastern Conference might not be represented, but any college football fan would be wise to have their eyes peeled on the Worldwide Leader on Saturday night.
ESPN will be airing the 2016 Heisman Trophy ceremony followed by yet another college football documentary as part of their celebrated 30 for 30 series. This time it will be Catholics vs. Convicts, a film about the memorable encounter between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Miami Hurricanes from all the way back in 1988.
30 for 30s after the Heisman Trophy ceremony have become a staple of the network in the past few years. The U, Pony Excess, The Marinovich Project, You Don’t Know Bo, Youngstown Boys and The U Part 2 have all aired in the time slot, and most if not all have drawn acclaim. It wouldn’t surprise many if Catholics vs. Convicts drew the same kind of reception by the end of the night.
Time: 8 p.m. ET (Heisman Trophy presentation); 9 p.m. ET (Catholics vs. Convicts)
TV channel: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN
