One game remains for LSU and Texas A&M this year as the Tigers and Aggies are set for a date on Thanksgiving night.
LSU and A&M are separated by one game in the loss column and two in the win column to this point as the Aggies and Tigers sport 8-3 and 6-4 records respectively so far. The Aggies are looking to finish the regular season with nine wins for the first time since the first year of the Kevin Sumlin era in College Station when they picked up 10. LSU meanwhile is looking to avoid skidding out to 6-5 prior to bowl season after falling short of a victory to SEC East Division champion Florida a week ago in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers will be shorthanded for this matchup as Leonard Fournette, banged up for most of the year, did not make the trip to College Station for the game. If he does not suit up for the bowl game, then we will have seen the last of one of the best running backs we’ve seen in recent memory after his junior year was mired with injuries. A&M, on the other hand, may be getting reinforcements as quarterback Trevor Knight is rumored to be set to return under center after Jake Hubenak assumed the role for the past few weeks.
The Tigers defense should no doubt play a big role in this game. They certainly have the personnel to match up with A&M’s stud-filled group of receivers and have a wealth of pass rushers to send at whomever will be under center for the Aggies. This will likely be the biggest deciding factor in the game as the Tigers offense has its fair share of limitations sans the dynamic Derrius Guice.
All told, this should be an eventful game for the evening portion of the holiday.
