Alabama lands 2017 five-star recruit Collin Sexton

There’s nothing particularly noteworthy about that headline... until I tell you he’s a basketball player.

The Alabama Crimson Tide landed a five-star recruit tonight.

That doesn’t sound particularly noteworthy, until I tell you that he’s a basketball player.

Collin Sexton, a 6’2”, 175-pound point guard from Pebblebrook High School (Mableton, GA), announced on Thursday night that he would attend the University of Alabama and play for Avery Johnson.

According to the 247 Sports Composite rating, Sexton is the #7 recruit in the Class of 2017 and the #2 point guard in the class. Sexton was reportedly deciding between Alabama and Kansas.

With the addition of Sexton, Alabama now has the 7th-ranked recruiting class nationally, and the 2nd-ranked class in the SEC behind Auburn.
