SEC 2015: The Auburn Tiger's Two Most Important Games

Match-ups against teams beginning with the letter "A" will be big deals this year

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

The Auburn Tigers enter the 2015 season with what will presumably be a potent offense and a defense that will likely improve as the season progresses. Vegas has set Auburn's win total for 8.5 games, likely reflecting the Tiger's tough schedule. A neutral site game against a good Louisville program begins a season that finishes with the annual Iron Bowl. There's not much room for error. Two games stand out as the most important.

Saturday, October 24th at Arkansas

The Razorbacks are a team many are expecting to take a leap forward in 2015. They look set to have a physical offense, but are replacing some important pieces on defense. It's early, but on paper this game projects to be a high-scoring affair. On top of that, Arkansas will be coming off a bye week, and will have had more time to design a game plan to slow down Auburn's offense. It's also an SEC West opponent, and the outcome will have an impact on the divisional standings.

Saturday, November 28th vs Alabama

One of college football's best rivalries has to make the cut. The outcome of this game could have all sorts of implications. The teams could be competing for the SEC West's spot in the SEC Championship game, or one of them could be playing the role of spoiler. Aside from conference standings and playoff aspirations, the winner of this game gets bragging rights against his or her friends and neighbors for another year.
