SEC Baseball Tournament 2015: Alabama Crimson Tide 6, Ole Miss Rebels 1

The Tide rolls into Day 2 of the SEC tournament as the Rebels get ready for their next step in the postseason

For Ole Miss, it's time to get ready for visiting an NCAA regional somewhere other than Oxford. For Alabama, it's time for at least two more games in Hoover and -- if the Tide's season is to continue -- maybe a couple more. Geoffrey Bramblett pitched a complete game as the Tide beat the Rebels 6-1 in the first round of the SEC tournament.

Bramblett scattered nine hits over his nine innings, walking no one and striking out 10. Saving the bullpen was crucial for Alabama, which will face at least one team that won't have to play today. The relievers will all now be just as rested as those on the other teams. And the Tide will probably need another couple of wins to get into the conversation for the NCAA tournament. They'll get started on that with a game Wednesday against Texas A&M.

Ole Miss might have had an outside chance at hosting a regional with a run in Hoover, but that's now out of the question. The Rebels are still "an easy No. 2 seed," and will wait to see where they go to start the national playoffs. They didn't need a win to try to keep their season alive.
