In the SEC
Nothing much changed in one day, though Ole Miss and LSU are a little closer to the cut line than they've been in recent days.
It's becoming more and more uncertain that LSU can remain in the bracket if it loses to Texas A&M. That 4-vs.-5 game, should A&M get to it, might end up being an complete elimination game for March Madness. We already know it is for the Aggies, but it could be for the Tigers as well.
Around the Country
The West Coast Conference Tournament was the only one with action yesterday that had any real effect on the SEC. The rest of the conference tournament games were all for one-bid leagues.
The WCC gave us good news and bad news. The good news was that Gonzaga blew out Pepperdine 79-61 to make the final. The bad news is that BYU beat Portland 84-70 to stay in the bubble picture. A loss there would have been damaging to the Cougars.
The final is tonight at 9 p.m. ET, and we'll be rooting for the Zags, of course. The ACC Tournament tips off today, but the games are that league's 11 vs. 14 and 12 vs. 13 games, so there's not a lot to watch there. Today is all about the WCC, and hopefully Gonzaga will take care of business.
