Ole Miss Loses Denzel Nkemdiche, OG Morris to Injury

Ole Miss won a remarkable game against Vanderbilt two nights ago, but the high has come way down with some injury news:

Morris was on the starting line for the Rebels. Jared Duke was listed as his backup on the depth chart; we'll see if Hugh Freeze moves him up or shuffles some other guys around.

The elder Nkemdiche is a big loss, though at least he's not gone for the season. He was expected the anchor in the middle of the Rebel defense after starring as a freshman All-SEC season a year ago. It's being reported as a torn meniscus.

Ole Miss has a famously brutal schedule to begin the season. If Nkemdiche misses four weeks, he'll be out against Southeast Missouri State, Texas, and Alabama. Being out for five weeks would add Auburn, and being out for six would add Texas A&M. The team wouldn't be favored against UT, Bama, or A&M anyway, but him being out would be a big loss for the game at Auburn.
