NCAA Baseball Tournament: Texas A&M and Arkansas Advance as Other Matchups are Set

As the final Sunday early games have almost wrapped up, we take a look at the final opponents for the SEC teams that remain in contention for the super regionals

USA TODAY Sports

After an implosion by Alabama and a punchless loss from Ole Miss, the SEC's next two elimination games were in Corvallis and Manhattan. In the former, Texas A&M survived a game against UC Santa Barbara, beating the Gauchos 5-4 behind three doubles and pitching that at the very least came through when it mattered. In the latter, Arkansas clubbed Bryant 12-3, avenging their loss from earlier in the regionals.

It's necessary for Arkansas and Texas A&M to win tonight to stay alive, of course, but I also think that winning tonight is more than half the battle. Do that, and Monday becomes an elimination game for both teams. You go from needing two wins to needing one win, which is obviously an easier task to accomplish.

With that and the other early Sunday games largely coming to a close, here's what we have on tap this evening in the SEC games. Check your local listings to see if you game will make it on television.
