For a night, at least, it will almost be like Missouri never left the Big 12. After the season that definitively proved that the other other Tigers belong in the SEC, they're going to the Cotton Bowl to face a former conference-mate in Oklahoma State.
This is sort of a coincidental meeting between two teams that lost their conference championships in their final game. Missouri, of course, lost the SEC Championship Game to Auburn, while the Cowboys lost a must-win game to Oklahoma and allowed Baylor to take the Big 12 title with the Bears' win against Texas. (The Longhorns would have won it otherwise.)
Both are also pretty explosive. The Cowboys average 39.8 points a game, while Missouri averages 39.0 points a game. It would be a surprise if the over-under on this game isn't in the 70s.
The AT&T Cotton Bowl airs Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. ET on FOX.
