Report: Johnny Football and Texas A&M Play Duke and David Cutcliffe in Atlanta

A weird pairing of teams heads to Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Bowl, which should still be known as the Peach Bowl if you ask me

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

The Chick-fil-A Bowl will feature two teams that no one expected to see there at the beginning of the season, for very different reasons. For one, no one expected Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M to fall far enough for the Atlanta-based event to pick them up, and few expected Duke to do well enough to get to the ACC's first bowl spot outside of the BCS.

Yep, it's Blue Devils vs. Aggies for all the spicy chicken sandwiches and plush cows. Really, what's not to like?

I'm not quite sure what to make of this game right now. Duke is a better team than a lot of people give them credit for being, even though they did get four of their 10 wins by a single score and were pretty thoroughly annihilated by Florida State in the second half of the ACC Championship Game. But this is one of the best seasons for Duke football in a long time -- maybe ever -- and it's likely Manziel's last college football game, so it could be interesting.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl airs Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
