BCS Standings, Week 13: Ohio State and Baylor Tussle for No. 3; Auburn Positioned for Sugar Bowl

The Buckeyes and the Bears are fighting to see who will be next in line if Alabama or Florida State goes down; meanwhile, Auburn is still at the front of the race for the SEC's second spot in the BCS

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

We're still in the always-strange month of November, so it's a little early to say it's over until it's over, but it's getting more and more likely that we're going to end up with more than two undefeated teams. For now, that means that Alabama and Florida State are in the driver's seat unless they cough up an upset, but who's behind them if that happens?

1 Alabama
2 Florida State
3 Ohio State
4 Baylor
5 Oregon
6 Auburn
7 Clemson
8 Missouri
9 Stanford
10 Oklahoma State

The Top 3 remain the same, but Baylor is now in fourth and is just .001 behind Ohio State. That is almost certain to change at least once. The Bears have games at Oklahoma State, at TCU and against Texas, while the Buckeyes remaining games are against Indiana and at Michigan. However, Ohio State would also have the B1G Championship Game ahead of it, so it wouldn't be entirely surprising to see the Bears take a lead next week (assuming everyone wins) and then see things tighten again down the stretch.

Basically, everyone from five to eight on last week's poll moves up one after the loss by Stanford, which checks in at nine. Oklahoma State rounds out the Top 10 for the time being.

South Carolina drops out of the Top 10 and ends up at No. 11, though that's largely irrelevant right now. With the Auburn win against Georgia, the Gamecocks have a better chance at getting to the SEC Championship Game, but it's also likely Atlanta or bust for them; only going to the Georgia Dome and winning is likely to get them a ticket to New Orleans. Texas A&M at No. 12 could be an attractive fallback option if Auburn implodes against Alabama, but as long as the Tide doesn't blow out the Tigers, it's going to be hard for anyone to get into the Sugar Bowl ahead of them. Rounding out the SEC are LSU at No. 22 and Ole Miss at No. 24, pretty much out of the at-large picture now.

Elsewhere, both Fresno State and Northern Illinois stay very much in contention for the non-AQ spot. Both are ranked at least 16th, and both are ahead of Central Florida at the moment. Right now, they're going to be in good position unless Central Florida just goes Krakatoa on a few teams, given that the Knights are holding on the their edge over the Cardinals.
