GAME OF THE WEEK
Florida at LSU, 3:30 pm ET, CBS
This is perhaps the most controversial of the cross-division permanent rivalries, but I for one am glad it exists. It's only rarely not an interesting game, and while heated, it seems to lack the bad kind of vitriol that some rivalries have.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12
Missouri at Georgia, 12:00 pm ET, ESPN
It's the Missouri Untesteds at the Georgia Walking Wounded. We're going to learn a lot about these teams once this one is done.
South Carolina at Arkansas, 12:21 pm ET, SEC Network
Pour one out for the Rivalry of 1992, as this is the last time these two play as designated rivals. Stating next year, South Carolina will get Texas A&M in order to set up an annual border war between Arkansas and Mizzou.
Western Carolina at Auburn, 2:00 pm ET, PPV
When putting this post together, I looked at the kickoff time and thought, "that's got to be on pay-per-view". Sure enough, it is. Nothing on regular TV ever kicks off at this time.
Alabama at Kentucky, 7:00 pm ET, ESPN2
This game is brought to you by the letters N, S, F, and W.
Bowling Green at Mississippi State, 7:30 pm ET, FSN
The Bulldogs' pattern of lose one-win one should continue as they try to bounce back from the loss to LSU with a MAC snack.
Texas A&M at Ole Miss, 8:30 pm ET, ESPN
The Rebels had better snap out of their funk soon, because the degree of difficulty doesn't ratchet down for another couple of weeks.
