SEC Olympics Update, Day 15

Arkansas's Tyson Gay and the US men's 4x100m relay team won silver today.

The conference added a bunch of new medals yesterday in the 2012 London Olympics, and it looks to get a few more today. Here is the slate of competition. All times below are Eastern.

BASKETBALL

Team USA won gold by demolishing France 86-50 in the gold medal game. Tennessee's Candace Parker led the way with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. LSU's Seimone Augustus had eight points and a rebound, Tennessee's Tameka Catchings had four points and five rebounds, and LSU's Sylvia Fowles had six points and six boards.

TRACK & FIELD

Women's 4x400m Relay

The US team won gold with a time of 3:16.87, with Tennessee's Dee Dee Trotter running for the team. The Jamaican team won bronze with a time of 3:20.95 with Florida's Novlene Williams-Mills running for the team. The team from Nigeria was disqualified. Arkansas's Regina George was on the team.

Men's 4x100m Relay

The US team won silver with a time of 37.04. The finals team included Arkansas's Tyson Gay and Tennessee's Justin Gatlin, and Florida's Jeffrey Demps also got a medal after running in the first round of the event yesterday.

The Trinidad & Tobago team won bronze with a time of 38.12. Auburn's Marc Burns and LSU's Richard Thompson ran for the team in both rounds.
