According to WAFB, the CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge, four former LSU football players have been arrested for drugs:
Jordan Jefferson, Tyrann Mathieu, Karnell Hatcher, and Derrick Bryant were all charged with possession of marijuana, law enforcement sources told WAFB's Jim Shannon and Kiran Chawla.
According to KSLA, the Shreveport CBS affiliate, Jefferson, Mathieu, and Hatcher are only facing simple possession charges, while Bryant is facing possession with intent to distribute.
The story is that police were called in when someone complained about a man trying to force his way through an apartment security gate. That was Jefferson, who also had a confrontation with a maintenance worker. The worker told police where he went, which led to the apartment where the four were. They found ten bags of "high grade" marijuana, seven of them being in Bryant's bookbag.
One thing is clear, and it's that Mathieu did not spend enough time in rehab as he said he planned to do. Rumors have been swirling this fall about Mathieu somehow, someway finding a way back onto the LSU team to play next year, but I think we can put that possibility to bed if it ever really was one.
