SEC Television Schedule, Week 9

Here's where and when you can find this week's SEC football action.

Butch Dill

This is basically a two-game weekend when it comes to intrigue. The East is on the line in Jacksonville, and Mississippi State and (to a lesser degree) Alabama get their first real tests of the year. The only other intrigue is mostly of the "who will stay out of the basement?" variety.

As good as these teams tend to be generally, there haven't been many Cocktail Parties with this much on the line in recent years. This is the first time since 2008 that both teams have been ranked going into the game, and like that year, they're both in the top ten. UGA is obviously hoping that the game goes a little better this time than it did in that season's 49-10 Florida win.

Oh, Missouri. For your sake, I really hope you don't lose this one.

South Carolina is beat up and potentially dispirited after losing two in a row, but it's still technically in the East race. Tennessee is teetering on the edge of playing well and salvaging something from the year and just marking time before the coaches get fired. This could either be a hard hitting game or one in which neither appears to want to be there.

Look for some high powered offensive action in this one, as the rebounding Razorbacks take on the potent Rebels in a game where the first to 50 wins. Probably.

The Aggies need to bounce back after the tough loss to LSU, and there's nothing like Auburn to cure a team's ills this season.

Yes, sometimes Vandy gets to play cupcakes too. UMass is dreadful, so in this one we'll get to see just how far James Franklin cares to run up a score.

MSU is 7-0, but it hasn't beaten anyone better than Tennessee. Alabama is also 7-0, and it will be looking to send a message with this one that it does indeed belong on top of the world.
