A report by Fox Sports is saying that former Georgia DE/LB Justin Houston failed his Combine drug tests in advance of this weekend's NFL draft. The drug specified by the report is marijuana.
Given that everyone knows there are drug tests at the Combine, they're almost as much IQ tests as they are drug tests. To fail them shows an incredible lack of judgment and foresight. Of course, Houston was not alone, as Iowa DL Christian Ballard also failed the tests this year.
The SEC saw another high profile player test positive for the demon weed when Percy Harvin got busted at the Combine back in 2009. It helped cause him to fall in the first round, though he had other red flags such as serious behavior problems in high school and chronic migraines. I don't think Houston has anything like that, so this failed test probably won't cause him to fall too far.
