Trust me. Few people hate the BCS as much as I do. It has aged like an abandoned sewage treatment plant, with its identified flaws becoming more numerous and heinous as time goes on.
Needless to say, I root for BCS chaos every year because I'd like to see the system fall. However, don't get too excited about the possibility of undefeated teams from five different BCS conferences at this point in the season. We had the exact same situation in 2005 when we finished the season with only two such teams. We had fewer potentially undefeated BCS conference champs in 2009 when we actually did finish the season with more than two. Perhaps worst of all, we had five potential unbeaten BCS conference champs at this point in 2007, the season we ended up with a two-loss national champion.
Besides, all of these teams have tough games ahead. Wisconsin still has to play Michigan State, the only team it lost to in last year's regular season. Stanford still has to play Oregon, the only team that beat the Cardinal at all last year (and the Ducks won by 21 points, no less). Oklahoma still has Texas A&M, who beat the Sooners last year. Oklahoma State has played exactly one of the other four teams currently in the top half of the Big 12, and it needed a dramatic second half comeback to win by a single point.
Kansas State is not going undefeated unless Bill Snyder can literally perform actual magic. Clemson has some good defenses left to face (UNC, South Carolina) and is in the perpetually chaotic ACC. Not even the eventual SEC champ is completely secure just yet. LSU still has to play Arkansas, who beat the Tigers last year, on top of its showdown with Alabama. I would be surprised, but not shocked, if LSU beat Bama but lost to the Hogs.
I will mention that Boise State and Houston are still undefeated, but unfortunately that doesn't matter when it comes to changing the system. If it did matter to any degree, 2004 Utah, 2006 Boise, 2008 Utah, 2009 Boise, and 2010 TCU would have brought it down already. The Broncos and/or Cougars going unbeaten would add to the shouting, but it would amount to bupkis regarding overthrowing the BCS.
So go ahead and root for chaos; I certainly will from here on out. Just don't get your hopes up quite yet. If we still have undefeated teams from five different AQ conferences a month from now, it'll be time to start getting your popcorn ready.
