Year2's Week 7 Picks

Trent Richardson and Alabama should be able to name its score against Ole Miss.
Trent Richardson and Alabama should be able to name its score against Ole Miss.

Last Week: 6-0 straight up; 5-1 against the spread

Season: 37-12 straight up; 20-19-1 against the spread

South Carolina (-3) over Mississippi State 27-10

The Gamecocks found something with Connor Shaw last week, though that something could have just been Kentucky's putrid defense. Meanwhile, Mississippi State is struggling. I think South Carolina's defensive line will disrupt MSU's offense while South Carolina will move the ball well.

LSU (-17) over Tennessee 37-10

Tennessee is reeling, having lost yet another starter in Tyler Bray. LSU is rolling, and its facing an offense averaging -14.5 rushing yards per game in SEC play. This won't be pretty.

Alabama (-26) over Ole Miss 44-6

I'm not sure how high the line would need to get to pick Ole Miss to cover.

Georgia (-11) over Vanderbilt 32-3

Probably the only way UGA doesn't cover is if Mark Richt gets a 7-0 lead and begins running out the clock from there. Based on the past few weeks, it's not out of the question.

Florida (-2) over Auburn 24-20

You know AU fans will be fired up given that A) the NCAA just closed its investigation of the school, and B) a not insignificant portion of the fan base thinks Urban Meyer was involved with the start of the investigation in the first place. Ultimately, I think Florida's defense will be the difference, but honestly, I wouldn't pick this game if I could avoid it.
