Live-Blogging Nick Saban (and Sort of Mike Slive)

Internet issues are making this harder than it should be.

2:36 p.m. CT -- "Agents who do this -- how are they any better than pimps?" Well, for one thing, they don't wear gaudy fur coats.

2:15 p.m. CT -- Prosecuting the agent that led to Andre Smith's suspension would have opened Alabama up to NCAA problems, Saban says. This appears to be a novel interpretation of NCAA rules, which means that's probably exactly the way the NCAA would interpret them.

2:12 p.m. -- On agent problems: "It's entrapment of young people at a very difficult time of their life." Repeats call for NFL to help or get left out.

Earlier -- "Last year is basically over. ... We lost a lot of good football players from last year's team." Translation: "I don't have time for this 2009 ****."

Earlier from Commissioner Mike Slive:

We had our first Tim Tebow reference at 1:46 p.m. CT. (Slive talked about an award Tebow won.)

On agents: "It is time to re-examine the NCAA rules that relate to agents," moving toward an "assistance-based model."
