Year2's Week 10 Picks

Last Week: 4-1

Season: 54-13

No fancy game images this week; too busy with other stuff to do them. I'm sure you're all brokenhearted about it. We've got a lot of cupcake games this week anyway, so whatever. Games are listed in schedule order.

FLORIDA at VANDERBILT

Florida's offense gets to look good for another week, and thanks to Warren Norman's injury, the defense gets to look good too. Given how emotional the win was last week and the enormity of the South Carolina game, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Gators sleepwalk through the first half. However, if they lose this one they lose the East, and I can't imagine them blowing it that bad.

Florida 38, Vanderbilt 14

IDAHO STATE at GEORGIA

Bombs away, Aaron Murray!

Georgia 52, Idaho State 3

CHARLESTON SOUTHERN at KENTUCKY

Bombs away, Mike Hartline!

Kentucky 59, CSU 20

CHATTANOOGA at AUBURN

It's a good thing Auburn has this game this week. Not that the Cameron Newton scandal is going to blow over in 10 days, but it doesn't hurt to have a I-AA team to beat up on while the guys are distracted.

Auburn 55, UTC 24

ALABAMA at LSU

Lost in all the off-field stories this week is that we've got a national title race elimination game in Baton Rouge this weekend. I have a feeling it'll go a lot like it did last season, only even closer. LSU's defense is better, while Alabama's is worse. I can really see LSU winning this one, though I have a feeling this is the week when Bama flips the switch and goes into juggernaut mode. Then again, if Jim McElwain calls more pass plays than run plays again, the Tigers will pull off the stunner.

Alabama 24, LSU 17

UL-LAFAYETTE at OLE MISS

The Ragin' Cajuns lost to Western Kentucky 54-21. That is all.

Ole Miss 56, UL-LAF 14

ARKANSAS at SOUTH CAROLINA

I keep thinking back to the stats I uncovered in the off season: that Arkansas hasn't been very good on the road under Bobby Petrino, yet South Carolina has yet to beat a good Arkansas team. Well, the Hogs broke through on the road at Georgia (sort of), and the Gamecocks suddenly have the worst passing defense in the conference. I'm leaning Razorbacks here.

Arkansas 41, South Carolina 34

TENNESSEE at MEMPHIS

The Vols should win this one in the neighborhood of this score. Most of UT's points will come in the first half; most of Memphis's points will come in the second.

Tennessee 38, Memphis 17
