The nation's greatest conference finally has the nation's greatest sports blog. Or a sports blog, anyway.
Yes, welcome to Team Speed Kills, the SB Nation blog devoted to the SEC. That would be the Southeastern Conference, not the Securities and Exchange Commission. So, please -- no more complaints about the stock market crash. Can't help you.
For those of you unfamiliar with your humble correspondent, I am cocknfire, original editor of Garnet and Black Attack, the South Carolina blog here at SB Nation. While I am the lead blogger here, I will by no means be the only writer, and I'll allow the others to introduce themselves as they come on board.
I cannot, however, tell you who all the best contributors will be. And that is because, here at SB Nation, we rely on the reader to be an important part of the blog itself. That's why, along the right sidebar, you'll find two unique ways to contribute:
FanPosts, where you can hold forth on whatever you please, as long as you can come up with 75 words worth of holding forth. And as long as it's somewhat related to the SEC.
FanShots, where you can post pictures, video, links, quotes and other odds and ends that might not be worth 75 words.
I take the time to point these out because they're the features that make SBN unique. All you have to do is sign up for an account if you don't have one -- no loyalty oath; we only require that of bloggers -- or join Team Speed Kills if you do. Then, have at it. This is your blog, too.
For fans of other conferences: You're welcome here, too. The title is completely tongue in cheek. While those of us in the SEC mostly believe we have one of the best (if not the best) leagues in the nation, we're actually a lot more open-minded than you might think.
We're perfectly willing to let you come here and be wrong.
