The Case for Rooting for Missouri Over Georgia

Casual UGA fan Michael makes the case for rooting for Missouri against Georgia this weekend. While I'm on board with his central premise (Go creative offense! Beat Sabanball!), UGA isn't really the team to make that stand against. Mark Richt took over at Georgia a year after Saban took over at LSU, and he's been running roughly the same offense ever since with a few updates here and there. His roots are in the aggressive offenses that FSU ran in the '90s. He's pro-style all the way, but he's not Sabanish. And, for what it's worth, Alabama had the most yards gained per game in SEC play last year.

The Richt Hot Seat Talk is Gone, if It was Ever There

Aaron Murray candidly admits that he felt real pressure to help save Mark Richt's job last year. Once the team really got on a roll, the pressure then began to fade. Bacarri Rambo, on the other hand, says he never thought that Richt's job was really on the line last year. He's also hoping to play for the national championship next year. Stating that as a goal is a surefire way to keep that pressure off.

Two Bulldogs Aren't Going to Stillwater

Caleb King and Kiante Tripp won't be making the trip to Oklahoma State due to injuries. King had lost the starting running back role to Richard Samuel, but he probably would have gotten some carries. He's still suffering from a lingering hamstring injury. Tripp has a shoulder stinger. Mark Richt is hopeful to have both back next week for South Carolina.

Mark Richt Interview

Here's an interview with Mark Richt from WFNZ in Charlotte, NC. It's from the morning show and yes, the host is as big a doofus as he sounds. It's not the heaviest in substance, but it's entertaining enough. When asked how he reacts to Lane Kiffin, Richt in between chuckles replied, "I don't... I've got enough of my own problems."
