Former Oakland Raiders QB and all-time NFL draft bust Jamarcus Russell was arrested today in a DEA sting for possession of a controlled substance. Russell was arrested for holding possession without a prescription for it. That substance is called "codeine syrup" and is the active ingredient in "purple drank." What impact does that have on golf?

The problem I have with the way the whole NFL system works is you have a kid like that with a bunch of potential, you reward him before his blossomed and then maybe he loses his motivation or maybe he doesn’t have the right surrounding cast. That’s been a big problem with the Raiders is whether there’s the culture to demand that these guys produce in the way that they need to. So yeah, I’m concerned about JaMarcus’ future on whether he’ll ever deliver on what a lot of people viewed as his promise.
