Charlie Weis is leaving UF after just one year in Gainesville. KU announced today that it has hired him to replace Turner Gill as head football coach. Weis said he chose the Florida OC job so he could be with his son, who is finishing up his first semester at UF right now. So much for that. As if Will Muschamp needed any more challenges in his rebuilding project, he must now find someone new to run his offense.

His decision to stay in-house and promote offensive line coach Bill Muir to offensive coordinator might end up being a legacy decision by head coach Todd Haley in Kansas City.
I don’t think Haley -- who finished third in the NFL coach of the year voting this week after leading the young Chiefs to a 10-6 record and the AFC West title in his second season -- is anywhere near a crossroads in his Kansas City career. I think he is in solid standing. However, if Muir’s stint as offensive coordinator in Kansas City is a short one, Haley will be saddled with a reputation as a coach who can’t work with offensive coordinators.

"BYU has a good football team, do not get me wrong they have won ten games or more since 2006 with Bronco Mendenhall running the ship. The big complaint by a lot of people is Bronco's stubbornness to adjust his game plan whether it is on the offense or defense side of the ball.
