A stunner in Gainesville has gone down, as the Georgia Bulldogs pounced on and eliminated the defending back-to-back National Champion Florida Gators in a two-game sweep. As a result, UGA is headed for the Women's College World Series!
The Bulldogs will make their third appearance in the WCWS after a five-year drought that lasted from 2011-2015. When they made the WCWS in 2010, it was on the heels of their first appearance in the event in 2009. Back then, the likes of Alisa Goler and Taylor Schlopy were leading the charge. Now, Tina Iosefa, Cortni Emanuel, Chelsea Wilkinson and Super Regionals hero Kaylee Puailoa, whose walk-off homer eliminated the Gators, who hope to bring the first National Championship in softball to Athens.
Congrats to the 'Dawgs! Recap coming shortly.
