SEC Television Schedule, Week 5

Kevin C. Cox

There are actually a few good games this week!

GAME OF THE WEEK

LSU at Georgia, 3:30 pm ET, CBS

Georgia finally gets a tough team from the West in the regular season, and LSU gets a chance to prove itself beyond what it did against a TCU team that might not be as good as we thought. It's rare to get many early season games this good, so enjoy it.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28

South Carolina at UCF, 12:00 pm ET, ABC

This is going to be a tricky game for Carolina. UCF has already beaten Penn State, and this is basically its biggest home game ever with it being the school's first true national television game (aside from bowls). It's not going to be easy.

South Alabama at Tennessee, 12:21 pm ET, SEC Network

I'm struggling to come up with reasons why anyone other than fans of these teams should watch this game.

Ole Miss at Alabama, 6:30 pm ET, ESPN

This game is a strong runner up for Game of the Week standing. The Rebels have an offense somewhat along the same lines as Texas A&M does, and though that offense isn't as good as the Aggies' attack is, their defense is better than A&M's is. Ole Miss had a bye week heading into this, and the Tide has lost a home game in each of the past three seasons. Don't miss this one.

Florida at Kentucky, 7:00 pm ET, ESPNU

Given how well the Wildcats did at home against Louisville, I might put the Gators on upset alert if I actually thought UK might score points in this one.

Texas A&M at Arkansas, 7:00 pm ET, ESPN2

It's a contrast in styles, with Bret Bielema taking on a team that is ruining the game according to him.

Arkansas State at Missouri, 7:30 pm ET, CSS

Interesting that this game is on CSS when no one in the state of Missouri gets CSS. It'll be on some local TV stations anyway, but that's just weird.

UAB at Vanderbilt, 7:30 pm ET, FSN

Much like the other game involving a team from the state of Tennessee, I can't really advise watching this one if you aren't a partisan on either side of this one.
