The wait is over. We now know where one of the all-time All-Name Team superstars is going. Defensive lineman Dee Liner is headed to Alabama.
Hugh Freeze is getting a lot of press today, and understandably so, but Nick Saban's class is more highly ranked by every service despite having fewer players. It also now has the trump card of having a D-liner named Dee Liner. Good work so far, Mr. Freeze, but BatNick still owns the SEC West.
Committed people in the college football world aren't the only ones following National Signing Day today. It's a big story across the sports world now, apparently, as fax machine fever has spread all the way to the NBA:
How good a Signing Day is Ole Miss having? It's the talk of the Miami Heat locker room this morning. Seriously.
Yes, yes it is. A lot is crazy about this day in the SEC, and the best player in basketball commenting on Ole Miss recruiting is just the latest crazy bit. We'll see how all the classes end, but with an endorsement from LeBron, it's hard to imagine that anyone but Ole Miss will Win the Day.
Defensive line is the lifeblood of SEC football, and Auburn is getting some big time help in that department today.
It all began early this morning when DE Elijah Daniel made a surprise flip from Ole Miss to the Tigers. Now on the inside, top-5 DT recruit Montravius Adams and his spectacular airbrushed T-shirt is headed to the Plains as well. They join fellow highly-touted recruits DE Carl Lawson and JUCO DT Ben Bradley in a fantastic defensive line haul for Gus Malzahn in his first year as head coach. The only bad news is the reported loss of longtime commit DE Tashawn Bower to LSU, but the collection of talent here is still great.
It's going to be hard for anyone to beat this group today. Ole Miss might come close, but even with Robert Nkemdiche in house, the Rebels don't have the same quantity of high end linemen.
