Reports: South Carolina to Hire Kansas State's Frank Martin

The Kansas City Star is one of a number of outlets reporting that South Carolina will hire Kansas State's Frank Martin as its new basketball coach. He would be a big hire, as he won at least 20 games in all five of his seasons at K-State. His run there included an Elite Eight appearance in 2010. Martin would be replacing the fired Darrin Horn, who experienced declining win totals in each of seasons in Columbia and who never took the program to the NCAA Tournament. It's unclear to me why he would be making the move, as KSU is in much better shape than South Carolina right now. Perhaps it's money, perhaps it's because South Carolina is closer to Miami where he's from, or perhaps he just wants a new challenge.
