SEC Will Not Suspend LaMichael Fanning for Controversial Tackle

The conference will not be handing Fanning a suspension for the body slam/suplex of Missouri running back Russell Hansbrough.

The decision to suspend or not is a judgment call, certainly, but I'm left wondering what precedent Slive is setting, or if precedent matters to him at all. The Elston hit was unflagged and unremarked upon by the announcers, while the Fanning hit was flagged and cause for lengthy discussion.
