The SEC announced today that the week of January 15-22 will be "We Back Pat" week for the league's basketball teams. All 12 member institutions will be doing things during that week's men's and women's hoops events to raise awareness for the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

That fund was started after Summitt was diagnosed with early onset dementia, Alzheimer's type. It will provide grants to promote Alzheimer's education, treatment, research, and support. This is a cool thing by the conference, though it'd be nice if the schools made donations to go along with their awareness-boosting efforts.
