Why do these programs think they can get away with this?
I don’t think Tennessee should be hammered with a bowl ban or anything, but giving up a scholarship or two would have gotten them a little bit better hearing from the COI, I would think.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
Yeah...
I’m not impressed, but from my understanding none of the football violations were classified as major… either way this reeks of our Chancellor, the same genius that was about to hire GT’s AD two days before they got hammered, interfering in a process that should have been handled by our interim AD Joan Cronan.
I take that back...
the football violations were reclassified as major for some reason… i swear it feels like the administration at UT couldn’t do better killing our AD if they tried
These are major?
16 phone calls in under a week, one bump violation, and a failure to “create an atmospheren of compliance”? I understand Lane talked crap, but that’s less than Alabama and Georgia in terms of actual violations in the same time period.
Pearl had calls to two recruits, the bump, and the cookout. Honestly, outside of the cookout everything seems plausibly accidental. Given recent punishments, we should probably expect more than we gave ourselves… but it is absurd that the NCAA decided to reclassify the college football equivalent of speeding tickets into felonies.
