Four Auburn Football Players Arrested
The off season arrest wire is not usually our beat around here, but this one's big enough to warrant mention.
Four Auburn players were arrested for armed robbery and were subsequently kicked off the team. The four in question: Antonio Goodwin, Mike McNeil, Shaun Kitchens, and Dakota Mosley. Only McNeil played a significant role on the 2010 championship team, but it's still not a good thing to lose three additional reserves when you're facing the highest turnover of starters in the country.
Even worse than that of course is, you know, armed robbery. The players are innocent until proven guilty, but they're each being held on $511,000 bond. That's not a dollar value you put on an arrest you're not sure about.

FULMER CUP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
I’m glad Coach Chizik dropped the hammer on them as quickly as he did by permanently dismissing them from the team.
While Chizik made the right call, five felony counts gets anyone dismissed from any team anywhere.

$511K????
For that kind of money you could get almost 3 Cam Newtons. That’s some serious cash.
