The New York Times is reporting that officials at Penn State are planning Joe Paterno's exit at the school. This is major national college football news, as he's the winningest Division I coach in history. Of course, the reason he's on the way out is the horrendous Jerry Sandusky scandal. I've not written about it until now because I barely have the stomach to even think about it and because others have covered it so well. It's an unthinkable failure on every level at Penn State, and everyone who has had any level of authority in the football and athletics program, including university president Graham Spanier, must be swept away.
