Birmingham News Throws More Doubt on Eric Bledsoe's Grades
Eric Bledsoe's high school transcript has been an item of interest for some time, and the Birmingham News' Jon Solomon and Marie Leech have done a lot of digging that turns up some of strange things. Nearly every person interviewed either gives a "no comment" or vouches for either Bledsoe or his instructors. However, the paper trail isn't so forgiving. His transcript doesn't match up with grade reports from his night school algebra class, for one. He also managed to take--and ace--Algebra 3 before taking the less advanced Algebra 2 course. Overall, his grades got better to an almost miraculous degree in his senior year. The Alabama High School Athletics Association (he played high school ball in Birmingham) hired independent attorneys to evaluate Bledsoe's grades, and their report is supposedly coming soon. Basically if any of his senior year grades weren't really as high as reported, he would have been ineligible to play at Kentucky. If his transcript was doctored, UK's entire 2009-10 season will almost certainly be vacated.
