I wonder if the inning clock is having that much of an affect
or not going to commercials is helping more.
either way, it’s only been about 1 1/2 hours and it’s already the 7th.
still 2-1 bama

The game is certainky moving along
Not a lot of runs — probably helps. But we might actually be on time this year.

The two Bracket One favorites will meet in the first elimination game
This might be an interesting tournament
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
First-round upsets in Hoover!
It’s like . . . um, every other SEC baseball tournament ever, actually.
Go 'Dawgs!
LSU 5, Florida 0 -- Mid 2
Ten batters and almost 40 pitches after the inning begins, the Bayou Bengals have the lead
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
7-1, Mid 7th
If I had any faith in our bullpen, I’d be happy right now.

LSU 8, Florida 3 - Top 7th
Geaux Tigers!
If I can’t have a Georgia victory game, I’ll take a Florida loss.
Of course, if you’ve been looking for either Bulldog wins or Gator defeats in the last couple of years, you’ve been disappointed a good deal of the time, which may explain my uncompromising pessimism and poor disposition.
Sigh.
Go 'Dawgs!
And now it's 9-3 in the top of the 7th
This has turned into a rout
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
Now, it's 9-6 in the 8th
As the LSU bullpen shows why Poseur’s concerns were well-founded
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
I blame you, C&F.
I had a bad feeling the minute you said it had “turned into a rout.”
Your hubris and folly have invited retribution from on high.
I know you hate Georgia fans, but did you have to do this to me, man? Isn’t this, like, the one time we’re on the same page?
Sigh.
Go 'Dawgs!
Whew!
You dodged a bullet there, my friend. (Figuratively, I mean. That wasn’t a terroristic threat or anything.)
You’re a South Carolina fan, so you shouldn’t need a Georgia fan to tell you this, but you never express faith in the outcome before the outcome is assured!
Nothing good can come from accentuating the positive.
Go 'Dawgs!
Can a USC fan jinx LSU?
Maybe. But I’d like to think my expression of paranoia and doubt prevented the cocknfire jinx. I really can’t complain about this season given LSU’s success in baseball overall, but, man… it has been frustrating.

I have no doubt that you're right, Poseur.
The only way to counter hope and faith is with bitterness and doubt. You are a credit to your fan base.
I would wish you luck and express my good wishes for a Georgia-LSU SEC championship game in December, but I know neither of us believes that will happen this year, or in any future year.
Go 'Dawgs!

Not so fast, my friend
As you know, i believe the fortunes of LSU and UGa are somehow tied together. It makes no sense, but there is some wierd voodoo hex in which we must only be good at the same time. But I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about this season. I’m not crazy enough to go out and buy plane tickets to Georgia or anything, but I have a strange, good feeling.
I’m doing my best to ignore it. The bourbon helps.

If memory serves, C&F . . .
. . . didn’t all four favorites lose on day one of last year’s SEC tourney?
If that’s the case, I just have to hope for Georgia to get the eighth seed next year.
That would only require improving by four spots in the standings.
Go 'Dawgs!

The lower-ranked you are, the more likely you are to win in Hoover?
If they invited all twelve teams, the Diamond Dogs would have kicked ass!
Go 'Dawgs!
Kudos to whomever is running the PA system at Hoover
Because Styx is EXACTLY what i need to hear at a baseball game…
Managing Editor/Chief Lackey-And The Valley Shook
Auburn and South Carolina were two of the best offenses in the league
I didn’t just dream that, right?
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
Auburn, yes.
I thought South Carolina’s strength was more in the area of pitching and defense.
Except against us, of course, but that’s hardly a reliable benchmark.
Go 'Dawgs!

This is true
But South Carolina did average 6 runs per game. They were working on a 15-inning scoreless streak at the time.

LSU 7, Vanderbilt 4 -- Bot 9, 2 out
The Bengals bullpen isn’t done yet.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
So the seven and eight seeds advance through the winners' bracket . . .
. . . while the one and two seeds must play elimination games?
If we let all twelve teams participate in the SEC baseball tournament, Georgia would have been a lock to win it all as the twelve seed!
Go 'Dawgs!
LSU 2, Alabama 0 -- Top 2

I'm just glad it's on.
I have pissed away the whole afternoon waiting for this, even if the outcome doesn’t have much overall significance.
There are a few of us who don't have digital cable or satellite
And aren’t able to change that. ESPN seems oblivious to that. But I’m boycotting all ESPN programming until the game is over. Yes, I’m that petty.
