Do the Refs, ahem, Hold the Key to the Game?
Sorry for the bad pun, but here's you last stat of the day: Alabama has not been flagged for holding since its October 17 game against South Carolina. What's more, Bama's offensive line hasn't been flagged for holding since the second quarter of the October 3 Alabama-Kentucky game.
To say the least, I find it improbable that any team (especially a run-oriented one) can go that long without committing a hold. Congratulations to the Tide for both being exceedingly well disciplined at not holding and very adept at hiding it when you do.
Any bets as to whether the Tide get a holding hanky tonight?

Good point...
The crew for tonight is from the Big East, widely thought to be the best conference of officials in the country. I’m just glad it’s not Penn Wagers. Ugh…..
As long as they call the game impartially
I’m fine with however many holding calls they make. I don’t think that Alabama gets special dispensation from the refs – if they did, there would have been a LOT more flags thrown for interfering with Julio Jones – and I honestly wouldn’t want the MNC if the refs were to give it to us. All I ask is that the refs call it impartially and by the book, and let the players settle it.
Alabama is disciplined.
That’s all that is, discipline. I’m sure they get away with some, but you can go back on any game and point out a ton of holds that weren’t called. They usually have to be pretty blatant to get a call.
Also, that stat only counts the ones that weren’t declined.
Lets just hope it's a good called game
That’s what I really hope for, a good called game. I’d rather lose than win because of the refs. It’s like giving me a candy bar, and then licking it.
