SEC Gains Three, Loses One at Under Armor All-American Game
The Under Armor High School All American Game was today, and of much more interest than the proceedings themselves are the new commitments that come out of it. It was a day that for the SEC, the rich got richer.
League champion Alabama picked up CB John Fulton (4* Rivals / 4* Scout) out of Manning, South Carolina. He picked the Tide over a wide variety of southeastern schools. He's listed as either the #4 (Rivals) or the #5 (Scout) cornerback prospect in 2010.
SEC East champ and big Sugar Bowl winner Florida held serve on WR Chris Dunkley (4* / 5*), long considered a Florida lean out of Pahokee, FL but who reportedly wavered a bit in the wake of Urban Meyer's detirement. The big surprise of the day was that the Gators also picked up DE Dominique Easley (4* / 4*) from Staten Island, NY. Easley, the defensive MVP of the game, recently decommited from Penn State but didn't even list UF as one of his finalists. It is a boost for a program still smarting from losing 5* commit S Matt Elam to Florida State in the wake of the detirement.
The SEC did lose out on one prospect as WR Kenny Shaw from Orlando, FL decided to stay close to home and go to Florida State. He had recently announced that his finalists were FSU and Tennessee.

Easley was clearly the best player on the field in the UA game on Saturday!
What a Player! The other UF defensive back recruits were dominant as well! I believe they both had 2 interceptions each. Good to see them bringin’ that “No Fly Zone” to Gainesville!
I can understand now why Elam jumped ship. He would have been a third team defensive back from the 2010 class by itself, much less with the stock pile of talent already at UF. I’m sure he saw himself as a lifetime special teams player at best at UF, no wonder he asked coach Meyer not to recruit any more safeties. I hate to see him go out west and play for that classless bunch because he did seam to be a good kid, it’s just unfortunate that he chose the entitlement program provided by fsu rather than to have chosen to come to UF and earn a position. Too much work I guess.
If Jeff Luc was smart he would drop the free shoes and come to UF where he could play behind this Easley kid. Easley will demand double and triple teams which will open things up for the linebackers for years to come.
One more thing; those FSU commits showed no sign of having any class. They were running their mouths for the entire time they were on the field and they didn’t contribute at all. The fsu 5* d-back commit is about 5’ nuthin and those receivers were all eating peanuts off the top of his head. He gave up more big plays than any other d-back that I saw play. Typical fsu player though, big mouth, and no ars.
I can now see why UF commits are covetted by our competitors, and this Easley kid along with the rest of this class has given me a new found confidence in coach Meyer’s decision to go on leave, and trust coach Addazio with this program. The University of Florida is in great shape because, well, it’s the University of Florida!!!!!!! Go Gators!!

Elam still isn't 100% on FSU
He’s a bit of a waffler. Don’t be surprised if he changes his mind again. This coming from reliable sources.
Gator Bait: The first, and still the best.

I wouldn't doubt Elam signing with UF
Coach Meyer has been real close with him and his family. Meyer recruited his brother to Notre Dame 7 or 8 years back so it has got to be hard on Elam to go elsewhere but he wants to play immediately and he knows that aint gonna happen at UF. You know there will be surprises between now and signing day but after seeing the other defensive secondary commits that we have I could care less whether Elam comes or goes. I wish him well wherever he lands at because he truly is a good kid and a good student. Face it, he’s smart enough to know where he can go and play immediately and where he can go and wait a year or two. With or without him this Gator recruiting class might be one of the greatest classes of all time. Especially if we were to get Powell and that big OL from upstate. All I can say to kids like Elam is to get on board while you still can cause it aint gonna be safe outside of this Gator Train!!!!
