You and Us and 2010

We like to periodically do this at Team Speed Kills to make sure that we're doing our jobs properly. Consider this an open thread to comment on what we do well and what you would like to see us do better. No suggestion is too stupid.

Below the jump, you'll find all the relevant statistics about TSK in 2009 -- including which of you contributed most to the discussion. (Quantity, not quality.)

i would suggest that "team speed kills" rate the conferences in order

i’m curious where you would put the mountain west conference out of the 11 fbs conferences. you might have already done that but i did not see it. you can even do the order for this past season. all the bowls are over and the mwc did go 4-1. they won the bowl % trophy for the third time. i know i’m biased and would rate the mwc higher than most people but i want the sec perspective. thanks.

i'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. i was building a house, i don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. bang. "unforgiven"

i'd be interested in something like this

obviously it’s very subjective and pretty much no matter how the list turned out you know there would be some moaning from someone. But as an SEC homer myself, I think I would put the MWC above a couple AQs.

Just two curiosities from me: baseball and women's basketball.

The first is out of my own ignorance. I don’t follow college baseball (or MLB, for that matter), but I know that it has a fair following.

Also, women’s basketball is pretty big in the SEC beyond just the University of Summitt. Georgia and LSU are both top-20 at the moment. Vandy has been ranked as well. And Florida and Kentucky make their runs on occasion too.

Mostly, just an idea to toss out. I don’t know if it’s worth the energy for you all or not. But there you go.

I have no personal interest in baseball at pretty much any level, but SEC women’s basketball coverage would be great.

I second the request for baseball coverage

The SEC always has some big time major league talent. College baseball coverage can be so hard to find.

Ditto for baseball

I would love to be able to follow baseball goings on here.

Baseball coverage will be back

I did some last year and hope to do a bit more this year.

Georgia women's basketball is "top-20 at the moment"?

Thanks for damning the Lady Dogs with faint praise, Hooper! Actually, Andy Landers has built one of the most successful women’s basketball programs in the country; he just happens to have done it in the same division with, hands down, the most successful women’s basketball program in the country. As Paul Westerdawg has written, Andy Landers’s career is what Dean Smith’s career would have been if Dean Smith had been in the same division with John Wooden.

That said, I’m all about me some college baseball, which is growing in popularity, is big in the SEC, is likely to get more air time under the league’s contract with ESPN, and culminates annually in Erin Andrews broadcasting from Rosenblatt Stadium. What, other than SEC football, could be better than that?

More Gator coverage. LOL

I cant think of anything wrong or to complain about. TSK does a good job. I really liked the game day threads.

Someone mentioned Baseball, that would be cool.

During football it would be fun to get more individual profiles of players, not the ones we see on ESPN every 5min. Such as Top performers of the week, or track some of the smaller award finalist not just the Heismen.

I did a few fan posts and theres no way I would be motivated enough to do that every day.
-So thanks for all the hard work

We do thank you for the compliment

Just weren’t around much this week, so don’t take anything by the lack of response.

you could have a tim tebow where he will be drafted(the order). you can wait after the combine

even the so called experts from espn have him a late first round to late third round pick. i’ll make my guess after the nfl combine.

Yes, pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease . . .

. . . more Tim Tebow coverage.

That’s what the world needs: more media outlets devoting time to Tim Tebow.

You could also do a feature on how Tim Tebow one day will replace oxygen as the substance that we breathe.

Go 'Dawgs!

i'm out in nevada. we don't see that much coverage on him unless it's espn.

i can empathize if you lived in the south. i don’t have time to look at your profile but if you like georgia how would you mind if the falcons took him in the draft?

Would it be a good idea to continue to pool more stories and such from the other SEC writers of SBNation?

I mean it would help get more community involvement from all of the SEC brethren.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
