Revised BlogPoll Ballot
Geez, it seems like we're inundating all of you with poll ballots of one kind or another this week. Anyway, here's my updated top 25 after getting suggestions on my draft.
- Florida
- Texas
- Alabama
- Virginia Tech
- Boise State
- Houston
- Cincinnati
- TCU
- Auburn
- Oklahoma
- LSU
- Nebraska
- Ohio State
- Georgia
- USC
- Iowa
- Oklahoma State
- Oregon
- Penn State
- South Carolina
- Ole Miss
- Michigan
- Miami
- BYU
- Cal
Changes:
- LSU falls behind Auburn. Right now, I think the Plainsmen are the second best team in the SEC West. However, LSU doesn't fall too far since they're one of the few teams to have three wins over BCS conference teams.
- Penn State falls behind Iowa, and others. An egregious error in the draft is fixed.
- Michigan slides a couple spots because of how ugly with win over Indiana was.
- BYU moves ahead of Cal because it has a better win than Cal does. Both teams have very ugly losses though, so they don't go higher.
Without any further major objections, this will be my final ballot for the week.

Auburn #9?!?
I’d have Georgia and Iowa ahead of them, FWIW. Particularly Iowa, they are undefeated AND have a road victory over a top 25 team in Penn State. Auburn hasn’t even left town to eat one of their 4 cupcakes.
Fair points. I just don’t know exactly what to do with everyone because the season has been so screwy. Just know that I am not a fan of poll inertia, so if you’re right about those three teams, it will get corrected sooner than later.
I will say that Iowa’s close scrape with a I-AA team in the first week is keeping them down on my ballot. I have little patience for teams that do things like beat a I-AA team by a lone point. It’s practically as good as a loss to me since playing that way against a decent team would get you beat.

Looks good
I could nitpick a few things, but overall…
Houston over Oklahoma State… South Carolina over Ole Miss… Iowa over Penn State… Oregon over Cal.
Congratulations, of all the things that factored into your balloting process, common sense was apparently one of them. Now, someone has to talk to whoever is making the coaches’ ballots for them.
