Vote in the Revolutionary Mumme Poll (brought to you by GTP)
I'm not sure how many of you know of or regularly check out Senator Blutarsky's dawg-blog Get The Picture, but if you haven't you are missing out on a lot. One of the big things that the great Senator has is his dream of pushing his innovative poll voting format, known as the Mumme Poll into the national spotlight. He conducted the first poll in the middle of the season last year with a fair amount of success. It's based on approval voting (which he explains in the previous link provided) and it only takes a minimal amount of time to put together.
So why am i blabbering on about this? Well because of the Senators recent announcement that the Mumme Poll is getting a technical overhaul which will make it easy to use, and a greater number of voters to participate. With the way it works, the more diversity there is and the greater number of voters, the more unbiased results you will recieve. At least as unbiased as we can in the SEC. This is all made possible by the great team over at 3rd Saturday in Blogtober. They will provide the web interface and poll engine to make such a project doable with large numbers in a shorter amount of time. I know the SEC has numbers like no other, and i would love to see this poll take off. Besides, i'm posting this on other teams SN sites, and you don't want them skewing the poll results, do you?
Therefore this is my pitch to you, my fellow SEC fans, in my best "Vote or Die" tribute, i ask you that if you consider yourself an somewhat objective (cause few of us truly are), passionate, college football fan, that can commit to doing this poll consistently week in and week out, Come and Vote, but don't make your Sports information Director fill it out.
Vote, or stay "Mumme"!

A FanPost gives the opinion of the fan who writes it and that fan only. That doesn't give the opinion more or less weight than any other opinion on this blog, but the post does not necessarily reflect the view of TSK's writers.

A Message from the Senator to all new voters.
Hey there, 3SiB readers! Have you ever felt after looking at the Coaches’ Poll like saying "hell, I could do a better job than those clowns", or, even more to the point, "these clowns should be able to do a better job than they’re doing"? Well, that’s how I reacted after I saw the individual coaches’ votes that comprised the final 2007 regular season poll. Blame it on stupidity, venality or greed, but it’s obvious that there is at a minimum the appearance of a level of bias and/or conflicts of interest that should be unacceptable, considering what’s at stake with the poll’s results.
I wanted to do something in response to that. The Mumme Poll is an experiment I started last season to determine whether it is possible to construct a college football poll that avoids the appearance and the effect of bad faith and manipulation by its voters. It’s also designed to be a more efficient, less time consuming means to an end. Presumably, if a coach can put together a ballot based on his own knowledge in around thirty minutes, there would be less incentive to pass the task off to a subordinate who can’t remember the name of Florida’s starting quarterback.
As a bonus, the experiment turned out to be a lot of fun, both for me and my readers. So it’s back again, in the hopes that it will be bigger and better this season. And as your hosts are about to explain, that’s where you come in.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
