SEC Media Policy Revised One More Time
After media organizations like the AP and Gannett said they would refuse to sign the SEC's once-revised media policy, the lawyers from both sides got together to hammer out something sensible. The AP's lawyers say it's a "significant step forward," though it's not fully without objectionable material.
The three changes include lightening the restrictions on using photos, lightening the restrictions on the use of video on TV, and clarifying its blogging policy. Don't worry about the last one; it's basically the same as the fan policy, i.e. no real time accounts, etc.
One of the objectionable things is probably that media companies cannot put any game video footage online on their own. They must use the conference-provided embedded media players for that.
