Meh
The virtue of The Onion is its ability to mimic writing styles effectively and make its point with subtle understatement. This one was a bit too over-the-top and in-your-face. Not one of their better efforts.

It was too long, but I think that was part of the conceit. Too long, just like all the articles about Kobe.
Unless I read too much into it.
