OUTRAGE
We try to keep the blogging here to a minimum during the weekends, realizing that you have much to do and not much time to read and, as far as us, everyone needs a couple of days of rest.
So this will be a short reaction with more to come Monday, but apparently Mike Slive and Les Moonves decided to get together and piss on tradition.
Auburn vs. Alabama is moving to Friday.
Someone who's been around longer than I have might remember things differently -- but I can't recall Auburn vs. Alabama ever happening on a day other than Saturday, and certainly not on a Friday.
This could get ugly in my home state. You just thing West Virginians take football seriously, with the couch burning and such. Wait until you see this reaction.

Yeah,
I’m not too pleased with this. It’s always on Saturdays…

One other time
The Iron Bowl was played on Thanksgiving Day in 1992. That’s the only time I remember it not being a Saturday, but it’s not unprecedented. I’m not a fan of the move, but not really for tradition’s sake. Moreso because having it on a Friday afternoon is going to mean more people won’t be able to watch the game than if it was on a Saturday (or on Thanksgiving). Not to mention the nightmare of Birmingham traffic when the folks going to the game mingle with the folks “enjoying” Black Friday at the Galleria or Summit, depending on which year it is.

The game hasn't been in Birmingham for a while
but yeah, some folks are going to be inappropriately steamed over this one.
Take a picture, trick.

apparently you haven't been through B-ham on a game day.
All sorts of traffic goes through there.

Hmm.
I’d give it a try before I react.
