Bowl Selection Day Open Thread

Discuss the match-ups from the BCS to the New Mexico Bowl. Okay, you don't have to discuss the New Mexico Bowl unless you want to. I'll be around consistently from about 7 p.m. ET on, but feel free to start without me.

rumors

On the twitter from Graham Watson at ESPN that Boise and TCU are going to matchup in fiesta. I have a hard time the Fiesta turning down ratings gold with a Big 10 team.

Some games are already known

Via ESPN:

Kentucky will face Clemson (I hate Clemson) in the Music City
Georgia will play Texas A&M in the Independence
Auburn faces Northwestern(!) in the Outback Bowl
South Carolina against UConn in the Papajohns.com
Arkansas plays East Carolina in the Liberty

Ole Miss’ opponent is also confirmed to be Oklahoma State while Southern Cal goes to the Emerald Bowl(!) to play BC. Oh, and Fresno is Wyoming’s opponent in the New Mexico Bowl.

Well

It might be enough to prove that Boise likely doesn’t belong in the Top 5. But beyond that …

That's precisely what Saban said...

…before the SECCG…..and they finally did. Bama better hope they can do it twice in a row.

I remeber being a kid

and thinking 1 vs 2, then it would continue 3 vs 4, 4 vs 5. That sure would make it easier.

Nick Saban is arguing with ESPN's 'David and Goliath' narrative

‘Why can’t it be a great game with two great teams playing?’ Because that doesn’t show how insightful the ESPN panelists think they are.

Saban is acting like the ESPN panelists are his players

Then he makes fun of Dr. Lou. This is truly great television.

Saban

I like how he says you should respect any opponent, but last year he had maybe a midnight curfew for the Sugar and had many, many excuses why they got crushed by Utah.

wow...

i didn’t know you were in Saban’s head…must be a mid major thing…

"The goal is to be a champion," Saban said. "I didn’t say to win a championship. I just said be a champion. That’s our goal here. That’s what we want to do."- Nick Saban

whats even more amazing...

that Utah team…that was so amazing and cried so much that they deserved a chance…went 9-3 this year..and that Alabama team that got, by your own words “crushed” is now playing for a BCS title…man..i love irony.

Turnover.

Last year’s Utah team was senior-heavy. 9-3 outpaced most expectations for them this year.

I feel bad for Cincy.

They’re getting completely overlooked in all this because of TCU. I still think it should be TCU/Bama for the marbles, but Cincy has to feel slighted nonetheless.
